Because of the tight turns, horses who are able to take the lead have a tremendous advantage at the Aqueduct race track.  The Gate To Wire Angle is my favorite and most lucrative system to use at the Aqueduct meet especially when the racing is conducted on the inner turf.

The following examples are the first races from a 10 race card run at Belmont on October 10, 2011, Columbus Day.  I don't consider Belmont to be an especially speed favoring track but serves fine for illustrating the Gate To Wire Angle.  Its a beautiful Indian summer day at Belmont.  The track is fast and the turf is firm.

Race #1: The first at Belmont is a $10,000 claiming race for 3 year olds and upward run at 1 mile on the dirt.  Of the top 3 horses sorted for speed the #8 horse Summer Share has the best middle (E2) speed figure of 93.  Summer Share is 8 points higher than the second E2 ranking horse Banking Holiday.  This a very big advantage.

Summer Share got an early lead and never lost it to win paying $7.30 to win and $3.80 to place.

Race #2:  The 2nd  was carded for $14,000 claimers for 3 year olds and up going a mile on the dirt.  The #2 horse, Wishful Tomcat is the number 2 speed horse and has a 4 point speed advantage over the #6 horse, Coljak.

Once again the #2 horse, Wishful Tomcat wired the field rewarding his backers with a $13.40 return.
